Hi everybody,
So I am finally getting around to going through my Maggie T-8
Here's a pic:
For the most part it is just a cleaning project....
One question: The Kluson tuners are tight and sticky. How do I clean/lube them to make them turn more freely?
Anybody know?

Hey Jay,
I have one of these that my dad picked up for me at a consignment auction for $35.00. It appeared to be in bad condition until I totally dis-assembled it and started cleaning it up. He couldn't believe how good it looked when I got through. I have let other steel players (you know, the ones that know what they're doing) play it and all have commented on how good it sounds. I too have some tuners that seem to be a little harder to turn than others but I just left them alone. For the most part they seem to loosen after awhile. One thing I have noticed about mine is that it will stay in tune for a long time. Only problem I've had is deciding what to tune each neck. |
