The Mt. Rushmore figures in my steel guitar world, these guys were there with the direction and information long before there was a thing called the internet:

Tom Bradshaw, Dewitt Scott, Winnie Winston and Jeff Newman.

Winnie and Jeff will never be forgotten, and all my best to Tom and Scotty, your efforts in the steel guitar world have made a big impact.

Steve, you've got to be kidding. I remember Jeff telling me that he gave you your money back after a few hours in one of his classes; you were reading a Playboy magazine and laughing hysterically when he was trying to teach.

Scotty refunded your money at the Convention because you always stood up and giggled uncontrollabily when he played his Rickenbacker Frypan.

Winnie said you returned his instruction book with red edit marks throughout it, claiming his grammar was worse than Bradshaw's (and we all know how bad his was).

You bought one of Buddy's cocktail glasses from me, then asked for a refund, claiming that "Five Jacks and water didn't lead to your learning a single one of his licks".

Steve, face it. We all failed you. We're not Mt. Rushmore's. We're just guys who tried to get you from between a rock and a hard place and failed. We're losers.

Steve
when I read your post I tho’t you made some good points But ! now we know better . I always put these guys in the supper hero category - for way to many years -- before this internet thing’e -- the only ones i knew were Tom Bradshaw, & Winnie Winston -- between the two of them i become a mediocre steel player and with hard work & years of practice I'v been able to hold that position Embarassed Laughing

OK Tom, to set the record straight:
It wasn't Playboy, it was Penthouse.
I've never been to St Louis.
Winnie's grammar WASN'T worse than yours.
...and I'm still waiting for that cocktail glass in the mail....

Like it or not Tom, as Bob said, you da man!
