I have been asked by Roxanne Russell Atwood (TV Producer, TNN Opry Backstage) etc. to announce the Nashville showing of a very SPECIAL show of interest to we steel guitar players. This episode involves the great relationship of Steel Guitar Hall of Famer John Hughey and his wonderful wife, Jean.
I had the priviledge of viewing this beautiful documentary-type video, and it is down to earth, and true to life. You won't want to miss it, set your VCR and DVRs as this is a keepsake presentation.
It will air in The Nashville Metro area on FOX (that's WZTV) at 10am Feb 6th (THIS FRIDAY)

It will air in Tuscaloosa, AL Feb 15th on WVUA-TV and on WUOA-TV on Sunday Feb 15th at 12:30pm
DON'T miss it!

Give A Living Rose is a show about gratitude...we say thank you to those who have changed or impacted our lives in a positive way. The story between steel guitar hall of fame member John Hughey and his wife, Jean is a love story like no other...and features a special thank you from The Time Jumpers and Vince Gill.
The story is produced by Roxane Russell Atwood (spent 10 years producing Opry Backstage with Bill Anderson on TNN--married to Opry piano player, Tim Atwood)...and producer, writer Billy Paul Jones who is the husband of Cheryl White of the Whites. Make sure you have a box of tissues handy, because you'll need them!

It will also air in other markets on future dates to be announced.

Please leave feedback here on The Forum and maybe we can get more exposure like this for our beloved instrument.

Regards,
Bob Smile Smile

I say to Fox, go diametrical and preempt The Simpsons with this show--something of real value.

FYI, Give A Living Rose has been broadcast on the ALN TV channel and on Blue Highways Network. The episode on John and Jean was on ALN a couple of weeks ago.

We would love to see and own a copy of this event. Is it going to be aired in Florida on a non-cable channel? We do not have cable access, only antenna viewing.

Is it going to be sold to the public?

We always enjoyed talking with John and Jean and still see her at some of the shows.

John was our favorite steel picker. We have all his CDs and play them often along with other materials.

Blessings to all,
Ray & Claire

Perhaps have Roxanne make a DVD of the show and market it here on the forum . I know I would buy several copies . Perhaps even have the proceeds go to a charity . Just a thought . Rick

Maybe they might be able to put this on RFD channel so a lot of us can see it.
