Like someone above said, it took the mystery out of ham radio when they dumbed down the tests and stopping using CW. I used to love CW. Still have my bug in a glass case.
My biggest thrill was a 40meter phone contact with Easter Island. Never got the QSL
Went QRT when I moved out of a house and into an apt.

Count me in...although I'm a dobro player, with a very little lap steel experience. I didn't know K6UA was a steel player though... _________________ Lee Hiers, AA4GA

My call sign is AB5EX. I enjoy CW QRP on my Heathkit HW-8 and SSB on my old outdated Kenwood TS-520. I am amazed at how many steel players are also Hams. |

Or 'whiskey alpha 4 pussycats eat mice.'
My Kenwood TS140S has quit again, but I can receive; I think it's about time for a new radio, especially before I go off shore boating. I think I'll go for an ICOM next; they have a great radio that's good for ham and better for marine use. |

Add me to the list, KC8JJL. I got started with a Tech Plus. (passed the 5wpm by the skin of my teeth) Not to long ago I upgraded to General. I actually want to get better at the code I just don't have any knack for it. I wore out my cassete tapes learning the 5wpm. I keep thinking about getting a new CD and giving it another shot. I would love to try my hand at QRP. All my radio stuff is Homebrew. 80 and 40 meter recievers.(built a superhet from scratch last year)and I made a VLF converter.

Frank the trick to improving your CW is to make one contact a day every day no matter how slow and it will come. |

KI4VAR, maritime mobile (not so mobile these days). My rig got a dose of salt water in it and does not work anymore. I mostly got licensed so I could stay in touch on my Pacific crossing a few years ago. Now that I am not doing passages I doubt I will get the rig up and running again.

Always wanted to but never had the time... maybe take the Novice test one day... then let the executions begin. Am guilty of spilling some illegitimate RF in my day.

Yep, W4YKK Extra Class. Don't get on the air much these days. Built most of my gear years ago. Great hobby!

I think their is still plenty of mystery in ham radio. I'm glad they "dumbed" down the test. |

W0ARY, my grand-dad's license. My ham skills are similar to my steel-playing skills: on the air, I often don't know what to say, on the bandstand I rarely know what to play!

KF7RO here. Still Advanced class, even though that class doesn't exist anymore for new ones.
Not very active, but still get the urge to get on the air sometimes. DXCC, WAS, WAC, all the standard stuff.

Thanks Ken.
What you see is the find of a lifetime. I got everything you see for $200.00 and me and the wife put it all up by ourselves. I've been in the hobby 37 years and had a lot of fun.Listen for me on 7220 most nights around 9:00CST and lets chat some evening.

N4BHB - Advanced Class, but seldom on the air anymore. Had to take down the beam, so only left with a dipole and 100 watts! This solar cycle will soon be over, and I still haven't made but very few contacts.
