I felt like making a quick video this morning of myself playing the old steel chestnut "Mansion on The Hill" on my six string 1948 Vega. a few clammers..but all in all...eh...?

Anyway, the tuning is e6. Questions, comments, Criticisms, complaints..always welcome.
Thanks for watching. |

Hey John, nice job. You get a nice clear sound of your guitar. If I had to add one bit of advice it would be to be careful on the the line, "on the hill." When you do that slide up 3 frets, if you're not careful, the chord becomes a min7 instead of a dom7. You have to somehow prevent that note on the 2nd string from sounding. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

Okay, I went back and played around with it again after reading your post..and DANG! You are right. I was letting that note ring through. I get it sounding better if I just block and forget that 3 fret slide on that part, playing more snappier, more like "on"-block-"the".
Thanks! That's the kinda input I like!! |

One of my favorites John and it always sounds cool to me on a lap steel with that "ole timey" sound. Keep up the good work. |
