Howdy Gary, I guess you know who you are, and I know you know me. Good to see you on here. I hope to be selling a lot of your CDs shortly.
You sang your heart out on the new album. You haven't lost a thing since we worked together in 1977- 1979. We had a good band back then.
See you around ..... JD

Gary, I went by Terry Bethel's house this evening, then went to Wade Landry's house. The black Dan Electro Tic Tac guitar used on our CD was on a stand in Wade's living room. Remember Brian Sterling told us it was tuned from B to B. Wade filled me in on the tuning. Here is how it is tuned---B,E,A,D,G,B. Just like a guitar, except the low B is added, and the high E is left off. The strings seemed pretty heavy. I am still wondering how Brian Sterling figured out how to follow the upright bass with that wierd Tic Tac tuning. Justin Trevino comes the closest to making a regular bass sound like there is a Tic Tack guitar with a up-right bass. Justin gets that "plunk" that sounds so good. By the way Gary, I finally figured out the name of the kind of music we play. It is called, "Texas Dance Hall Music." |

Gary wrote most of the Texas Dance Hall songs on our new CD. I think Gary is a great writer as well as a great singer. Gary, do you know how you can tell WHEN you have finally made it "big time" in the STEEL GUITAR WORLD--- as a singer and writer?????? You have made it "big time" when you go to a steel guitar show and hear one of your vocal songs you wrote played 10 different times instrumentally by steel players. I don't think I have every been to a steel guitar show where someone has not played "Way To Survive." At most steel shows you get to hear "Way To Survive" played at least 10 times instrumentally. In the future when you walk into a steel guitar show, and hear some steel player playing one of your songs instrumentally, then Gary, you can say, "I finally made it in the world of the pedal steel guitar." |

Ray, I am emailing $300 in jpeg images to you, to cover the repairs on your $10 camera.
Keith, I played Garys songs (with him)in Branson for 2 years. Look where it got me ..hahaha .
All kidding aside, Gary is another example of hidden talent. Thanks to Keith Hilton, some of his talent is sufacing.
I would like to see you guys in Siloam Springs, but 250 miles is a long way for this old #&%* to travel, besides, I don't want to get hit with another camera repair bill.... ouch ...

John, I'll make you a deal! I've got an old Brownie camera that I had in Korea in 1961, and it has 6 pictures left on it, black & white. I'll bring it down to Siloam and I won't charge you guys anything for the 6 pics! Wish you could make it down as its going to be a good one. Roger and all the guys & gals sure know how to put on a steel show. Heck, I'll even pay your way in! Keith, weren't you in Korea also? See you guys there. Ray

Keith; I'll be taking "Way To Survive" off my playlist for our convention.Maybe I'll work on Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.Scott and Teresa Henderson sent me an e-mail that explained, with the right support, even that song can be a show stopper.
