Charley,

Here's what I did for lubing my steel guitar:

I don't have any experience cleaning changers but have noticed that even brand new steels play much smoother after using Tri-Flow on them!

Hey Greg, I just came off of your lube site to find your reply. I did the smart thing and searched. I have marked your site so I can refer to it when I get the tri-flo. I've never told you how much I appreciate all of your contributions to steel players and this sight. Thanks a bunch. We can close this.

I use a can of compressed air like you use on computers etc. found at wal mart or radio shack, office supply etc..I then use a oil product called ZOOM . it is a environmental friendly lubricant similar to sewing machine oil..I use it on my shop equipment and I used it on all my steel and music equipment with no problems..it is also very easy to clean up should it run or drip.

Greg, is Hoppe's powdered teflon similar to the tri-flo? I have a whole bottle that I bought to lubricate my Matthews bow.

Terry,

If it's teflon suspended in a light oil, it's probablty great stuff! The oil helps carry the teflon to exotic places!

David,
Great idea about the canned air for cleaning. Thanks and I'll do that before I lube.

I followed someone else suggestion and used PB Blaster to clean mine and it worked really well. I lubed with '3 in one' or 'sewing machine oil'.

Very Happy
