I have a Remington S8 I need to sell. Anyone have an idea what I might ask for it?
It's in excellent condition with a nice case. I traded an American Tele for it a few years ago and have not made time to learn how to play it.
Thanks for your opinions.
PS-having trouble uploading photographs here but can send via email.[/b]

Hi Lindy, I have a Remington S8 Steelmaster. I paid $895 plus shipping for it a little over 3 years ago. My best guess is that a good used one would bring about $600 or mabey a little more with a hard case. If the instrument has been painted, it would also bring more. Herb charges $300 to paint one of his guitars.
The Remington Steels are great guitars. I just wish I had bought a double neck when I bought mine.I am sure you won't have much trouble selling it, but if you do, hang onto it. These are sure to be collecters items.Herb Remington makes these in his home workshop and I bet he couldn't have made more than a few hundred.

$550 is a very decent price. I recently sold one to an SGF member for $500 with new legs and no case. It was a fabulous, well designed guitar, but it wasn't getting much play time here.
