As some of you know, I worked as a rep for ZT amps http://www.ztamplifiers.com/ at the show in Phoenix.
Mike was there representing Jackson Steel guitars, and was kind enough to allow me to set up a amp in his room and let some players come in and try it out.
Thank you once again Mike. I really appreciate your help. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Interesting little amp, Mike. Specially the "10 lb." part Are you using these amps? |

Steve, the 10 lb one is for rock guitarists who want distortion. It's great for that, but it's no good for steel. I use the 22 pound one with the 12" speaker they call "the Club." http://www.ztamplifiers.com/products/club.html I now have 2 of them. (They gave me the 2nd one in exchange for my efforts on their behalf at the show,) and will use both of them together with a POD from now on. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Steve, some people like the way the amps sound, and some don't. "Good" is totally subjective. They don't sound like Webbs, or even Peaveys. They have their own sound.
These are real bare bones, no frills amps, with no bells and whistles. If we make the analogy of cars, a Webb would be a Rolls Royce, and these would be a VW bug. But like the VW, they will take you where you want to go.
My gig at the show was not to sell them, but to introduce them to our community, and get them into the steel guitar shops like Scotty's and Billy Cooper's out your way. Both stores will in fact probably be handling the amps.
I suggest that you (and everybody else) try one out and see how you like it. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

At the NAMM show, I strongly suggested a midrange control on the Club 12 to attract steel players. Their new bass amp (which is 400 watts) has a sweepable mid circuit. Love to see that on the Club! |

Marc you're right a midrange controll would be nice and also a little bit more treble. |

I agree, and have mentioned this the the guys at the company. I use a POD with mine to tweak the tone. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.
