Dobro string hight

How high are the strings off the neck on a dobro?

If I remember correctly (without opening up a case and trying to find a ruler around here) the optimum height is 3/8" measured near the nut.

Not sure if this applies to the question or not--aren't Beard resonators set up at 5/8"?

My Clinesmith is 3/8 inch and my Beard Odyssey is 1/2 inch.

Like Dave, I was rerring to a Clinesmith on the 3/8" height. Steve and Dave both post about Beards being a little higher. I can't imagine the point of having it set up at 5/8" - that seems pretty high.

Yes,
I set up my guitars with a 3/8 or 7/16 nut height.
