Any useful steel application at all for one of these? Lots of power in a cute, light package, but I suspect the tonal tweeks aren't great.

Hey, Ken,
I have the Jazz Ultralight...same package as the acoustic. I posted about it the other day on a post about the small amps and heads that are being offered.

Here's a link to it.

http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=2277000000

I hope that leads you to the correct page.

It's a great little amp with effects built in. 2 channels and you can hold the pre amp with 1 finger and even the speaker with one finger. I bought it to take on the road to take to dressing rooms and practice, but I just never did.

Terry Bethel and I cut Burning Memories at my house a while back and I used that little Jazzmaster.

Only con....they're not cheap! And the effect parameters are not adjustable. You can use delay and reverb at the same time...you just have to decide between the short delay or the long and how loud you want it.

Perfect amp for rehearsals, churchs or small venues.

Thanks for the input. I'm left to conclude you're either giving the real deal on the amp, or you're really not a guy to mess with!!

HAHA!!!....all 5'6" of me!

I took these pictures for Fender when I got the amp. Don't know if they made it to their website or not. It's really light weight.

Have been interested in this since it came out...instead got a Genz Benz for my acoustic stuff...As for steel, would love to hear some clips...If I could get by without bringing the BFPR to every smaller gig/practice, would be nice...also, could be a nice pair for a stereo rig with the PR

Paul, this is not the acoustic pre amp....it's the Jazzmaster. I don't know what the difference is. They look about the same. Also, I can't find that song that Terry and I cut. He might have a version of it.

The speaker configuration on the Jazz version looks much more steel friendly than on the acoustic. In keeping with my impression that steelers and jazzers tend to look for rather similar characteristics in an amplifier.
