If they had put hinges on the underneath of Quads such as the Stringmaster they could have folded in half and taken up the same width as a 2-neck model for transport. Oh Well

I've heard that hinges really improve the tone.

That's right, Chas. Especially the push/pull hinges. Their tone is far superior to the others.
