WHEN I WAS A KID BACK IN THE LATE 30'S MY MOTHER HAD AN OLD VICTROLA? OF HER GRAND MOTHER'S WELL SHE HAD THIS RECORD THAT SHE ALWAYS PLAYED. AND LOOKING AT SOME OLD RECORDS I FORND THIS RECORD. MY MOTHER WAS VERY FOND OF HAWAIIAN MUSIC.

THE RECORD IS FROM "THE BRUNSWICK-BLAKE COLLENDER COMPANY ON THE BRUNSWICK LABEL. SIDE "A" IS CALLED "KAWAHA" a [hawaiian melody] IT ALSO SAYS [hawaiian players] AND THE MANES OF "FRANK FERERA' & "ANTHONY FRANCHINI" #2119 A SIDE "B" IS CALLED "MALANI ANAKA MAKAN" I HAVE A FRIEND THAT MIGHT BE ABLE TO TRANSFER THIS TO A CD. BUT AT THE PRESENT TIME I HAVE NOTHING TO PLAY IT ON.

I ALSO FOUND SOME G. AUTRY, H. SNOW, AND W.WHITTMAN RECORDINGS ALL ON THE OLD PRESSED BAKELITE MATERIAL OF THE 30's AMD 40's/ WHAT A FIND FROM MYCHILDHOOD.

Jay, Where is Montello Mass. I worked in South Lancaster Mass, from 1975 to 1980. and Lived in Sterling. South Lancaster is just a short distance from Clinton. and Sterling is between Worchester and Lemonster. How Interesting.

Hi Wayne, I'm 20 miles south of Boston. Montello is a part of the North end of Brockton. We have our own little "Post Office", used to be a nice area, although, still some great people and areas. Jay Y.

Here's a good article about Frank Ferera who recorded many early Hawaiian 78 rpm recordings, both with Helen Louise and with Anthony Francini.
