Got 2 Nashville 112's here.
A line from 'Post EQ Patch Send' on the front of the main 112 is going to the' Power Amp In' on the back of the slave 112.
Using a Goodrich Pedal to the 'Pre EQ Patch' on the front of the main 112.
Steel guitar going to "High Gain Input' on the main 112.

With respect to tone, is there a better way to configure this?

Thanks

Put a Revelation pre amp in front & run 'em stereo....
Oooo Baby!
Cool

""Oooo Baby!""Is right!
I get mine from a Digitech RP150.
I wasn’t sure of Gary’s assets so I thought he might be able to use the two outputs from his Goodrich.
To start.

I know he can get some real nice sounds outta those NV's.

But, if a Revelation is doable, "Oooo Baby!" Laughing

What a fine tool. Great for any stringed electric instrument, IMO. Quite the bargain, when ya consider that.

But then, I have G.A.S. ("Gear" Acquisition Syndrome.) Wink
(And, I've always been a tone freak. Is it a curse? lol)

Ron - don't have that kind of money! Thanks though.

Michael,
I've got 2 AMP outputs and and jack that says INSTR on the Goodrich.

Currently:
I have the INSTR jack on the Goodrich going to the PRE EQ PATCH 'Send' on the 112 and the AMP out jack (next to the INSTR jack) going to the PRE EQ PATCH 'Return' on the 112. A line from 'Post EQ Patch Send' on the front of the main 112 is going to the' Power Amp In' on the back of the slave 112.

I have an Boss RV-5 between the guitar and the amp. The RV-5 has a stereo feature to run two outs. (like to a second amp)
But, if I run a line from the B channel on the RV-5 to the 2nd 112, I'll have no volume pedal control of the 2nd 112.

If I run a line from the volume pedal to the 2nd 112, I'll have to use JUST the reverb on the 2nd 112 because I'll by-pass my effects rack.

This is why I'm searching for any suggestion I may have overlooked.

Thanks Guys!

You might want to try running your steel to the Volume pedal Instr. input, then use one of the VP Amp outputs to your effects device input and from the effects device use the stereo outputs to the individual amp inputs.
In other words let the effects device produce the two needed sends to your amps.
Just a thought.

Michael,
That is a great suggestion and all worked fine with good tone, except I got 60 cycle (or whatever) hum.

After rewiring to my old method I noticed I had no volume control via the pedal on the 2nd 112. I did some testing and found that leading from the front of the master amp to any input of the slave provided no volume/pedal control. (funny I never noticed this while playing)

So - I ran a line out of 'PRE AMP OUTPUT/CD INPUT' on the back of the Master 112 to 'POWER AMP IN' on the back of the slave 112 and then I had the sound I was looking for - with Volume Pedal control.

If you wouldn't have suggested what you did - I would have never figured it out. I know this because I've been working on this for weeks.

Thank so much!

My pleasure…….. I’m glad to hear you tracked it down and it’s working.
I used to get a kick out trying different patches just to see/hear what I could get.
Now I just complain about how much stuff I have to carry in.
And I’m working on that………
Take care

I just purchased my second N112 for a REALLY good price, but I havent been able to run them stereo yet. I am having a ne pre pot installed on it(guess why Surprised ).
So you guys are using a pre amp to up youre signal after it leaves youre volunme pedal. How would a goodrich matchbox do the job?
How are your 2 N112s sounding Gary?
Are youre EQ settings offset?

I really like the two 112's. I run the second 112 as a slave to the first. Separation sounds great.

Gary, I had mine hooked up that way too, you loose EQ on the piggyback amp though. Thats why I split the signal out of my volume pedal and assign my DD3 to one amp. That way I can run them 2 nnv112'S 'stereo'.
Peavey customer service told me there are umpteen ways to wire dual or stereo, there really is no wrong way, What ever works for youre application.
One product that is on the market that "safely" gets rid of the 60hz hum is called a radial big shot and here in Canada they retail for 80 dollars.
here is the link
Have fun Smile

Thanks Quentin.
I'll try the Big Shot.. it looks as though we can also run two guitars through the same two amps. Nice options for $80.
Thanks

If you want a louder single sound with the ability to spread the sound out...slaving is one way to accomplish this. Stereo imaging with two different sonic settings on two amps (whether through a stereo preamp or the out puts from a dual out volume pedal is another) It depends on what you are aiming for.
When I am recording I like to double track...and apply different tonal filters, and effects to each track (stereo amping equivalent) And when I am playing on a live stage, a mono voice loud enough to cut through fog generated by a lead guitar, keyboards, acoustic guitar & bass - a slaved rig can create the mono voice (less feedback and complexity to try to manage in real time) is the way to go. Your call...
((Have to find a relevation preamp to try out))

That is a great way of planning setups Randall !!
That explanation cuts through some more of the fog.
Thanks
