A new Youtube video of Don Helms and Chris has just been uploaded. It is 52 minutes long and has some fantastic steel guitar playing by Don. It looks like it was recorded not too long before Don passed away. I don't know how they put a 52 minute video on Youtube, but it is great. Chris sings a lot of Hank Williams songs plus others by Merle Haggard and Lefty Frizell. Don plays as good as he did when he played for Hank.

It does no good to post such a favorable review without a link. Smile

Sorry Brad, I haven't progressed enough with my home computer skills to be able to do that yet.
Thanks for doing it for me.

That's about the best thing I have ever come across on the internet, truly a treasure. Loved Don, and I think Chris Malpass is the greatest interpreter of true country music (or...Hard Country) that's come down the pike in a long, long time. We went to see Merle Haggard here in Kelowna B.C. last spring and the Malpass brothers opened. They were incredible..so was Merle. I burnt that video (all 52 minutes) to a DVD today just so's I would always have it. It didn't come out in the highest resolution but who cares. I'm just fumbling around occasionally on an SX lapsteel, but after seeing Don Helms (and the Cindy instructional DVD's I've got) I really don't have a desire to ever play pedal steel. An 8 string console would be nice though.
