I picked up an early 70's Astro brand 5-string banjo recently, and I'd like to trade it for a lap steel.
The banjo is like many of the 70's Japanese imports, with a one-piece aluminum rim/flange, and mahogany resonator. The funky 5th string tuner was shot, so it's at the repairman's and is getting a new Schaller geared peg and spikes. It has a plate on the peghead where it once had some form of string bending devices, which are gone now. It comes with what looks like it's original chipboard case. It's getting a complete setup, so it will be problem-free and ready to play. I don't have any pictures yet, but will in a day or two. I'd put the value at about $150.
I'd like to trade it for a lap steel in the same price range. I'm more interested in an older guitar, rather than the Rouges, etc. Looks are unimportant, but I would like something that's ready to play. Let me know what'cha got! _________________ "it's not in bad taste, if it's funny." - john waters |
