I received the below E mail last night. If someone can assist Mr. Schaar, he will be monitoring this thread for an answer. I have the "Forever" LP but it is packed up somewhere. I need to dig it out and woodshed "My Bluest Day" but I digresss......

I found you through a Web search and am hoping you will be able to answer a question about Pete Drake's great song, "I'm Just a Guitar, Everybody Picks on Me."

This song is at http://www.lyrics.com/im-just-a-guitar-everybody-picks-on-me-lyrics-pete-drake.html

I'm a freelance writer doing a story about witty songs and I want to include lyrics. On this song, however, I can't make out all of the second verse.

I'm good through:

I'm just a guitar
Everybody picks on me
These blues they keep playing
Has got me _____________.

...but I can't make out what he sings after "has got me"...

Do you happen to know or do you know anyone who might?

Many thanks from America's Dairyland (Wisconsin),

Ted Schaar

I imagine someone here has the answer. Maybe Smiley Roberts if he is online. I believe he does this one with his talk box.

Smiley Roberts performed this at the ISGC in St. Lou. a few years back. Anybody remember that? Had the talk box and all.
