A friend loaned me his Fender Dual Showman setup for a few days. You can hear some vintage sounds played through it. The tune is an original comp called..... Dual Showman. All the steel parts are played on E9th but feature some C6th sounds using the 9th string lower and split tuning on the 5th string.

My main guitar amp is a 1970 Dual Showman Reverb with added master volume and a custom overdrive channel, can't imagine a much better amp.

Thanks Chris and Matt. Going back to the Steel King will be a little harder now.
Ryan, your equipment list is pretty neat! I am sure this Dual would sound even better even better with the right cab and speakers.

Greg, The Showman head really sounds good. I was looking for a twin or bassman 100 or showman. I did something I haven't done in 20 years and went to a pawn shop close to my house. I found an Ampeg Super Rocket(100 watts 4-6l6's) cheap. I hooked it up to a JBL 15 and the tone is incredible. There's a lot to be said about all tube amps.

Unless I'm mistaken, which wouldn't be the first time, a silverface Twin 135 is basically a dual Showman.

Yup the schematics look the same. It's nice to able to mix and match with other cabs and speakers though. A bit harder to do with a twin. And being Fender, it HAS to have a name and a personality, it's a "Dual Showman", not just a Twin Head, and it's a Big Mac, not just a hamburger.

To my ears the Dual Showman has more pronounced bottom end than your Steel King. We all hear things differently. Good recording as usual and your lead guitar sounds good too.
