I'm looking for a New Volume Pedal...& I need some advice, info, etc.
I have a Goodrich L-120, now. But, it needs replacing. It's feeling its age, & I want a Quality Volume Pedal with "State of the Art" Technology.
Anyway, I need some advice & information...regarding the purchase of a New Volume Pedal. I've heard great things about other brands of pedals. Hilton, is a Pedal I am highly considering! I'm already familiar, with Goodrich products...since I own one.
It's an L-120, and I purchased it in '95. It's been a great pedal, but I would like some feedback on the Hilton, as well as NEW Goodrich pedals. I also, have seen the "Telonics" ads. I'm in Arizona, & they're not far from me.
I want a High-Quality Volume Pedal, with some of the newer technology. I also, need a "low profile" pedal. If not, the Goodrich 120 is too high...& my thigh hits the bottom of my '95 Mullen D-10.
Any, & all information...would be greatly appreciated! I am attending the SWSGA Show, in Phoenix this month. If anyone who is attending the show, & also sells Hilton Pedals; this would be very convenient. I am not limited to Hilton Pedals. Goodrich, & other pedals (such as "Telonics")...would be considered as well.
Sorry, for such a wordy post. But, I really want a GREAT, New Volume Pedal!
Thanks!

I was at Jim Palenscar's place a while back & Greg Leisz was in there getting some work done on his gear.
He had the Telonics pedal. Jim was talking about how cool that pedal is. You can actually download different settings for it, & I believe it has a 5 way capability for the different settings.
I think it'll be my next pedal.
I have a Hilton, a Goodrich & an old BMI (very nice feel). I like them all. But that Telonics seems to be da bomb. I think Mickey Adams is usin' one too, these days.

I have never seen a Goodrich pedal just wear out- the pot and the string can be replaced and generally the other parts just seem to "take a lickin' and keep on tickin' ". The Telonics pedal now has 6 selectable settings including the latest with a short throw and 6db gain at the end~ kind of giving it infinite sustain. It is also available in std. and low profile versions- same pedal- just has the axle placed in a different position. |

The Telonics is absolutely top of the line. I've got 2, and they are the best pedals I've ever used hands down. _________________ ARTIST RELATIONS: MSA GUITARS

I have both a hilton and a goodrich .. the Hilton is the best so far .. clear and dependable .. I have the Goodrich as a back up .. if I wanted to spend ultra bucks for the newest best it looks like the Telonics is the winner .. |

Thanks to all, for your help & feedback!
Looks like it's between a Hilton, & a Telonics pedal.
I went to the Telonics website. I could not find anything on the site, that had anything to do, with volume pedals. Very confusing! Any help on this, would be appreciated.
Fred Justice - I may be giving you a call, soon. I may buy a Hilton - Low Profile, Volume Pedal from you.
BTW, What are the prices...on the Hilton Pedals, & the Telonics Pedals?
Thanks again! _________________ David "DJ" Rupert

You can see Telonics at John Lemay's site here I had the same trouble finding information.
I think Hilton has a site with prices etc.
I don't have either, so I can't offer you any opinions. Good Luck. |

You welcome David. If I had the bucks, I'd probably buy one of the Telonics pedals. I'd like to experiment with the remote sensor and maybe used both feet on the floor pedals.
Maybe they'd let me demo one for a while |

I have a Hilton great pedal.and two Telonics. If you can afford one get the Telonics. It is on line upgradeable if there is any software changes. There is now a 6th taper. They also make a PRO model that has a more flat response curve for C6 and ext E9.
There is also a model with stereo all the way through and one that has a control voltage out to drive a Lexicon MPX-1. Also if you ever get the Telonics power amp. It will power the pedal without a wall wart. There is a direct isolated output for your tuner so you can check the tuning while the lead guitar is taking a solo
The Hilton is a good second choice if you can't swing the Telonics at this time.

I've owned and used just about all of the volume pedals offered on the market over the last 50 years and even some that were not on "the market".
Most all of them were very good pedals, but,,,none even come close to the Tolonics pedals (two) that I now use. They are simply the best available.
