| as a newbie i have read alot about amps and other stuff..i understand everyone has there favorite amp and most are using the nashville 112..but my question is there any other amps around the same price range as the nashville 112 that will do the same job?basically im lookin for a good practice amp..any suggestions? |

Get a Nashville 400......15 inch speaker ....210 watts....effects loop if you want to use it.....not too big and not too small.
Fair price is $350 to $375.
Best bang for the buck amp Peavey has ver made!!!!

Not necessarily so. The NV 112 would work great for practice as well as gigging. I personally use a NV400 that I got in '83, with the Ken Fox mod.

The Nashville 400 is a great amp and a bargain in today's market. You might want to check out the discussion on the MB200 on this forum if you want to pursue a light weight setup and have your choice of speaker/cabinet options.

I have a Nashville 1000. It's larger than the NV400, but according to Peavey's specs is actually lighter. Nothing against the 400. I like them also. I recently played through a Nashville 400 and a Peavey LTD 400 back to back. The LTD really impressed me. I had never heard one live. All of those should be more than adequate for practice and most gigging. You should get several viable suggestions.

You could also try an older Peavey Bandit or Pacer. These amps are single 12, cheap, lightweight, and fine for lower volume practicing. For playing out though I use a Peavey Session 400 limited.

Another vote here for the Nashville 400. At around $3-400 they're a bargain.
I used NV400's all the time for around 25 years. Although I've since gone the boutique preamp-yada-yada route I still have 'em and use 'em from time to time. |
