Bill, at least it's steady rhythms. Looks like a bunch of rock arpeggios and chords with no 3rds (and it looks like fun!). Good luck with it. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

Better yet, scan it into Smart Score.
Bill, I'll bet you can play this in your sleep. _________________ Links to streaming music, websites, YouTube: Links |

I agree, Mike. Bill is a great player and he should have no problem with this. It looks pretty straightforward. A few years ago one of my guitar students, a high school senior, was playing guitar for his school's production of West Side Story. He brought in his score of the guitar parts and we worked on them for a few weeks. It was pretty tough. Unusual rhythms, lots of syncopation, and lead parts several ledger lines above the staff. I was cursing Leonard Bernstein for weeks! _________________ My Site / My YouTube Channel

working hard..three days into rehearsals...they havent run me off yet!!!
just wanted to post something from the new crop of young writers tom kitt wrote this. imagine writing all techno pop grooves and raggae rhythms and rap stuff and disco etc.
i cannot even imagine if and when this show goes on the road, picking up a rhythm section and rehearsing this in one 4 or 5 hour session and then doing the show that night!! |

If things have changed at all over the years, then there seems to be a greater frequency of guitar-friendly keys in modern musicals. Here's an example of that.
I did 'Fiddler...' last Spring, and that was a struggle (yet horribly boring at the same time!!!)
This looks challenging but logical - but if every page required this much concentration then ..... well, I'd be glad Bill has the gig and not me!
Good luck with it, Bill, and 'break a leg'! _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles, Martins, and a Gibson Super 400!

I had a session with Betty Buckley, back in November, that was totally unexpected. |
