I am having problems tuning my F knee lever. If I set it to specs when released my open e is sharp. Any suggestions before it goes to factory. Bob |

Return spring too weak/loose? Is the E-lower ok? Are the 4 and 8 strings both returning sharp? What guitar do you play? That'll help the pros respond faster. _________________ RICK ABBOTT

Are you saying that when you tune the lever to the number (I use -18 cents) the string comes back sharp? Also, is it both the 4th and 8th strings or just one? _________________ RICK ABBOTT

Bob, it could be that you have turned the nylon hex nut too far when tuning that lever. The linkage is supposed to have a wee bit of slack.
Turn your guitar upside-down.While you just barely wiggle the lever in direction of the pull, observe the nylon nut closely. There is supposed to be a hair of play between the nut where it contacts the raise finger. In other words, the lever should move slightly before the string starts to raise.
Try this first. If that's not it, let us know. _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars

Thanks guys. I started backing out the plastic nut and started to see a difference. Not as much sharp. I use the same tuning -18 for the lever. I will work more on it tomorrow and let you know how it turns out. I realized that I had it turned in to much. I will continue tomorrow and let you know. Thanks for your help. I really appreiacte it.
