I am using a 1980's MPX midi patch transmitter to change the effects on my Alesis midiverb 4.....(velcro's onto the Bradshaw Tab Rack by the pickup). I have been looking high and low for another MPX...anyone got one in their goodies box?...What do you use so you don''t have to turn around or bent over to change sounds?...Thanks Larry

I setup my rig differently than most steel players because it works.
Whichever amp I am using I will place it within arm's reach to my left pointed at me. The most important person to hear the steel is the steel player. You need it for intonation. When we are not using IEM's (in-ear monitors / ear buds) I will use two amp with the second slaving or dry mix on the right of the steel I send a signal to the main mixing board and split it off for the monitors.

Foot switch array on my left on the floor - but no knobs to adjust. My main amps are Roland Cubes with amp modeling and all tone and effect controls on the top. I place these amps on milk crates or stands so that the controls are easy to see and at string height. As we tend to segue from one song to the next without stop I must be able to dial in the sound quickly - this system works well - For Me.

Larry, I might have one of those laying around. I'm getting ready to go to work and then gig after. I'll take a look tomorrow morning and let you know.
