Gary,
Don't know of anyone who stocks nuts or bridges for steels, but, post a couple of pictures of your existing nut and bridge, and some of us can probably steer you toward some options.
What kind of lap steel is it? What style of bridge and nut are we talking about?
I'm in the slow process of building some non-pedal steels, and so far I like brass best for nut and bridge. Brass and aluminum are easier to work than steel, and still bring out a brighter sound than plastic, Corian, or bone.

I don't recommend this set. The bridge is actually pretty good and the dimension from 1st to 6th is 2 1/16", but the very narrow (1 3/8") string spacing of the nut makes it unusable. Perhaps the vendor would sell you just the bridge w/o the nut.

The vendor contacted me after the sale asking for positive feedback, but when I mentioned the string spacing issue he told me I was wrong and that there was no problem Rolling Eyes

hi chris i agree with you my string spacing is
1 3/4'' i think 1 3/8ths would be too narrow. i'am hoping i can find someone who can custom make me one

Gary--I haven't dealt with this outfit, but they sell small-dimension angle iron in brass and aluminum that would be suitable for nuts and bridges and with no minimum order:
