I wanted to let you know about a benefit that will be held for Heart of Texas Recording artist Curtis Potter. It will be on Sunday, February 26 at Melody Oaks in Priddy, Texas. The event will begin at 2:00 p.m. Justin Trevino will be providing the band and special guests will include Darrell & Mona McCall, Tony Booth, Claude Gray, Kelly Spinks, Frankie Miller, Billy Keeble, Conda Wood, Jody Nix, and more are being added daily. Curtis is still recovering from a triple bypass and valve replacement. He is expected to make an appearance at the event as well.

Naw Bobby, they don't need me. It will probably be somebody like maybe Buddy Emmons or maybe Dickey Overbey I'll be there with bells on though. Whoever plays will be a real treat I can promise that. Hope to see everyone there to support Curtis. Don & Bonnie.

Curtis,
You get well quickly and get back to doing that fantastic music that you have done for years. I am plugging your benefit on "Swingin' West." You have been one of my most requested artists for the past 26 years.

Should be a great event in a community with probably less than 50 town-folk. Priddy is the kind of town when you drive through it, you wonder, "Did I miss the town? There's nothin' here but a couple o' houses and a chicken coop." Best wishes to Curtis.

Keep on pickin'!

Curtis has made every one of our WTSGA meetings in Abilene except the last one of course. He loves steel guitar music I can assure you. We're getting the West Texas delegation together to be at Melody Oaks on Feb. 26. I took this address off the Melody Oaks site if anyone wants to contribute to Curtis' and Pat's fund:

Curtis Potter

Billy, Don and the guys are doing a super job of getting this show on the road. Oughta' be a big turn out. Time for us to support a SUPPORTER!!!!

Sorry I'm going to have to miss the benefit in Priddy. I play at the Stagecoach on Sundays, and sometimes it's hard to get a sub. I did however, send a card, and a check to Curtis, and I am praying to see him back to his ole singin' self again soon! I suggest anyone who wants to contribute, but cannot make the benefit, can send a check. I bet the Potter household can use all the help they can get right now. Bless you!
