First there was the Ronnie Scott's video and now he honors Les Paul at the Iridium.

And if Imelda May returns my calls, my wife will have to move. Wow!

Imelda is married to Darryl Higham, the guitarist in the band (his band, BTW) backing Jeff up. Lucky Darryl Cool

Smokin band. I especially like the drummer. Once you've played with a real one like that its hard to go back. Touch and dynamics.

That's funny because my first thought was "Why is that drummer playing on this?", when Les Paul never used a drummer on all those classic "Les Paul and Mary Ford" recordings.
I would have loved to hear them do it with just the 10 guitar parts and 6 vocals like the original Les & Mary hit.

What amazes me about Jeff Beck is that he plays totally fingerstyle with no picks of any kind. Just the fingers & bare thumb. He was a flat picker years ago until he found out he didn't need one. I couldn't even imagine playing Les Paul's style without a "toe nail" but he pulled it off. I'm a big fan also of how he manipulates his vibrato arm on his main guitar (a Strat) and gets a tone to die for and once again completely fingerstyle. Must be something in Britain which makes great fingerstyle players such as Jeff, Mark Knopfler, Lawrence Juber and of course the Forum's own Roger Rettig who's also a Tele terror, and "pickless"....JH in Va.

One of Jeff's best bands right there. I love Rough and Ready.
