The Benefit for THE Fiddler extraordinare, went well considering the bad weather conditions. The roads were dangerous from the ice, and motorists who don't know how to drive like they have good sence.

A little over $6,500 was raised Sunday from 2:00pm till 8 m. Complete bands, ("The Coachmen"- Stagecoach Ballroom) featuring Donnie Barrow - Vocals, Mark Abbott - Fiddle and Vocals, Dixie Hankins - Drums, and Vocals, Eddie Morgan - Keeys, Chuck Cusimano - Guitar and Vocals, (Billy Martin sat in for Wayne Milligan- who couldn't make for traffic accidents on the Dallas Highways, on Bass) "Country Night Live" Featuring, Buddie Hrabal - Steel, and vocals, Danny Adams - Drums, Billy Martin - Bass, and Vocals, Dale Morris Jr. - Fiddle, and Vocals, Chuck Cusimano- Guitar, and Vocals. Tommy Alverson and his band featuring, Tommy Alverson - Guitar, and Vocals, Ray Austin - Steel, Ron Thompson - Drums, Jerry Abrams - Bass, and Vocals, and sitting in on fiddle, the great Bobby Flores.

Many local Artists, and Musicians turned out to help raise the much needed Money to help out (Brother) Dale Jr. Names such as Jerry Max, and Jeanie Max Lane, Carl Vaughan, Billy Keeble, Randy Brown, Chad Rueffer, Jerry Webb, Larry Funchess, Steve Funchess, Kristy Kalyn, J.D. Smith, Wade Branch, Danielle Reed, Ron Stafford, Rick Garner, Dale Morris Senior, Jimmy Fincher. There many who braved the weather, but I want to thank Bobby Flores for showing up all the way from San Antonio...Just for the event! God bless every one of you! (I hope I didn't leave anyone out. There were several who wanted to attend, but couldn't because of the nasty weather.) More later... I have to get off the computer.

I'd like to add another name or two to the list of helpful folks that came (even tho, to my knowledge, didn't perform) Fiddle player- Jess Meader,& Steel guitar player -Danny Hawk. A big THANKS to the folks who bought the fiddle, and guitar. -I'm sorry to say I wasn't there when they sold, so I don't know their names- The guitar, sold for $1,600.00 (and fiddle sold for $1,375.00) were signed by: Darrell McCall, Justin Trevinio, Johnny Rodriguez, Charley Pride, Willy Nelson, (And his entire band) And all the performers, and musical guests at the benefit. And, The instruments are to be signed in person by the great RAY PRICE at his show in Burleson, Texas on Sat. Feb. 25th. (If the winning bidders present them to him for his autograph.) Thanks again everyone!

Sorry, I forgot to mention Bass player great Ronnie Ellis, who plays for the Texas playboys. I do remember seeing him there just before I had to leave, but I never heard if he played on stage, or what. I do know that he showed up.
