| I believe that's a Sho-Bud Crossover model. The late, great Ernie Hagar used to play one, back in the 70s. I understand the pedals can work either neck via some sort-of switch or lever. Ernie sounded great on his guitar. That guitar, if it works properly, is a steal at $800; but the price will probably go up. |

you're right paul, this looks like the one ernie played.
they sounded great. i use to call ernie 'buddy emmons' just to irritate him. he played reno and lake tahoe alot and worked at a music store in santa cruz for awhile. these sound great, are fairly heavy and the crossover mechanism was a cool concept when working properly. |

This looks a little shaky - seller has no previous sales and says there are 8 floor pedals - I only see 7 pedals?

The pedal nearest the keyhead is a slightly different color; not so much patina. Probably added on. Not sure that would be a problem if it was done right.
Chris: I bought my Sho-Bud, Pro II I think it was, from the music store in Santa Cruz. Ernie was the salesman. Then I ran into him again at the Shy Clown Casino in Sparks/Reno when he played the graveyard shift with ABC Reno. When I decided to quit music and go back to school he took my place in The Family Portrait, the main house band at the Shy Clown. He used to play his Sho-Bud through two Session 400s. Needless to say, ABC Reno was a bit loud, but his steel sounded great. |

I can say that it's not a steal at 800. This is an early one, from late 66 to late 67, and one temperamental s.o.b!! It IS a cool guitar, it will sound incredible, and will not play in tune without sweating blood to get it right. I would not use the crosssover swich, I'd set the pedals permanently to each neck. Very cool design that is very, very touchy. I have one...
Yes, a couple of them have worked correctly. So, it might be one of them, but dont count on it.

They only came 6 pedals and 1 knee lever. I went to look at the pedals/levers to find the auction ended. Can't be too good if it had 7 pedals unless it had no knee levers because there isn't anyplace to put extra stuff. Mine is 5 pedals and 2 knees and I had to use the rack from the first pedal to add the LKL for an E-raise. There are only 7 racks total for each neck. I wanted to investgate that one more. Sure was pretty!

I'm looking at the pictures and wondering if the seller was a Lefty. I could see it working that way, of course the player would be leaning pretty fat forward all the time, and just forget about the knee levers

| I have two Sho-Bud Crossovers and they don't look like this. Crossovers have six pedals and one knee lever, and a very conspicuous crossover lever by one's left hand, which I can't see on this. Also, every Crossover I've seen has had black fingerboards, not white. |

I have one with white boards, and have seen a couple others as well and all were older ones. I'd say most were black, but that's because black was en vogue starting about that time.
If there were no knee levers there would be racks for 7 pedals...it may have been ordered this way by someone who played an old Permanent...with no knee levers. Bobbe had/has a Perm with 9 pedals, and no levers!
