Last night I took in a little bit of "culture" I went to the theater to see "Lost Highway, The Music & Legend of Hank Williams". Russ Wever was on stage for the entire show playing an old Fender D-8... great sound!
The band members were an intricate part of the play. They had many speaking parts, told jokes, etc. They played all of Hank's hits throughout the 2 hour presentation. The vocalist was awesome.. a Hank clone for sure. The music was authentic 50's country... very clean and spare. And Russ Wever sounded great on his Fender D-8... C6 and E13 tunings. He was using an old Fender volume pedal with the left-right tone control for the boo-wah effect.
I got together with Russ the day before the show and after the show, and we talked steel, steel, steel. If this show comes to your city, don't miss it!
