well guy's, web site is down due to techincal difficulties for right now, this is all very new to me, so I don't have any info about ES-12 guitars or even prices.I think this is the very first model and it is still being tested, it comes with the new Promat improved p/p changer I think. I don't know how "student" this guitar really is tho, it looks kind of "pro" to me... all the questions you have you can email it to me and I wil forward it to Promat or you can conntact them directly...

I've got a little more info on this guitar. First of all, it is not a "student model" but rather "professional economy" model, how Promat calls it. This guitar does not have a new improved Promat push pull changer but the regular Emmons p/p model changer.Guitar can be ordered as SE-10 , SE-12E9, DE-10 with wooden or aluminum necks. Also extra knee levers and pedals can be added. When constructing this guitar goal was not to take anything away from the instrument ,tone wise but to cut expenses by eliminating unneccessary polishing or other fancy cosmetic details. Tone of this instrument is as good as Promats most expensive models. Promat is still crunching the numbers before they come out with the price and as soon as I find out what is the price for this guitar I will let you know.

It is reminiscent of the Emmons Blackrock... not a student model but not a full-out pro-model either.. still this is a very interesting steel

I'd like an 8 string, with wider 3/8" string spacing.

Hey, I can dream...

I'm sure I can't afford it, Damir. That's okay, though.

Hei guys!

Too me it looks like a PRO model.
I have one S-10 (great PSG absolutly fantastic) and mine looks quite the same as this one.

The only difference I can see right now from photos would be non-polished KEYHEAD but I guess that doesn`t effect the tone. Like I said already few months ago when I got my guitar. Tone and sustain is great. Pedals and knee levers are comfortable, sensitive and have great responsiveness.

Till this day I have had a chance to try 4 different PROMATS and they have all the same fantastic features.
So I pretty much belive that this new line of PROMAT guitars has it all too.

Damir, correct me if I`m wrong.
You should know even better than me. You have tryed even more PROMATs then me,...

P.S:
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.

hey Blaz,

I have been playing pedal steel since 1988 and most guitars I played were great instruments, I feel specialy conected to my Promats because they were made personaly for me by very dear friends of mine. They are made by hand and in old fashion way ,out of very high quality materials. I know how much effort Mr.Papic and his son put in every single one of their guitars, how much love ,patience and hard work. And last but not least, the tone, Promat to my ear has the best tone of all the guitars I have tried over the years, bar none. I'm very happy that you love your instrument so much, and I do love mine.I have 3 Promat guitars and if my financial situation gets little better this coming year, I may order 4th one.Take care and Sretan Bozic...
