I play at hospitals and this week someone asked for an Elvis song. I would like to learn one or for next month. I'm not an Elvis fan and need a few titles that would be easy to learn. I can listen to them on youtube.

thanks, Ron

"Blue Hawaii" would be a good fit. It's Elvis, and the Hawaiian theme makes it sound right on a steel guitar. It's easy to play a harmonized melody for this. In C6, the key of F or G puts almost all of it between frets 5-12, the easy part of the fretboard.

"I Can't Help Falling In Love With You" lays out very well on the lap steel, as would "Blue Moon", "Are You Lonesome Tonight", etc.

For more uptempo songs, "Hound Dog" or "Teddy Bear" should be just fine.

Are you playing solo or with accompaniment?

Didn't he record 'BLUE CHRISTMAS'?

That would be appropriate?

Doug Beaumier's book has both Blue Christmas and Can't Help Falling in Love. Good tabs

Several of The King's early hits were simple 12 bar blues progressions,e.g."Don't Be Cruel", "Heartbreak Hotel","Mistrey Train", and "Hound Dog"

I always liked playing "Love Me Tender". It was one of Elvis' best tunes IMO.

“Always On My Mind” is a nice crossover number.
