Last night, I was at Curly Chalker's son Carroll's house, doing a couple overdubs for him. We were talking about the old days, how I first met his dad, etc. After I had loaded out (it was dark), he followed me out to the car. He asked me if I would have "any interest in these." He stuck his open hand out. I had to ask what it was, because I couldn't see it in the dark. He said, "It's a set of dad's picks." I told him I would be honored. So, here I sit, with a set of ol' Chalk's picks on my desk. Cool. Cool

Michael !!......How cool and how strange !!!

The first time we went to Nashville a few years ago
Smiley and Marsha (Fogle)Mick put on a BBQ for us.....jam session with some friends who had been on OPRY etc.....Marsha presented a Necklace to my wife Lyn....and then did the same thing to me that happened to you....."These are Harolds picks that he last used on the Opry...I have been saving them for the time when I met you !!!"....How nice !!
Harold Fogle used to play steel for Jimmy C Newman.....Stonewall Jackson and many more
Didnt mean to highjack Michael.....just coincidence

Tony, that's not a hijack; that's a great add.

What a great gesture by his son! Hopefully some of Curly's licks come with the picks. Very Happy
