Let me be the first to get the holiday juices flowing here on the Forum by wishing all of you a grand end to a very tough year for us here in the US. Things can only get better for us if we take care of family...and I feel very strongly about the family that keeps the ties bound through B0B and the forum.
This year, with the help of my friend Del Walters, I've been able to equip my shop and gain the experience i needed to move MY life in the direction I want it to go, and thats back to all things "music"..We've all watched in horror as the landscape changed SO drastically, over the last 20 years..and making a living as a musician has become a very elusive dream that seems reachable only for a "chosen few". These guys in most cases are our friends and colleagues, which we have the utmost admiration for.
Each and every one of us "daywalkers" here finds time to set aside the rigors of everyday life to immerse ourselves in the world of music, and steel guitar. We strive to gain the insight and the knowledge that others seem to wield with ease...(Bruce, Paul, Buddy,Lloyd, Bobbe, Curly, Buzz, Jim, JayDee),...and the list is endless...
So I envisioned last year...a website that you could find TETRABYTES of info on..
How does Norm Hamlett hold his pics?>..what gear does he currently use?...string gauges?....Inifinite info...Updated from every direction, from players all over the world...completely interactive..Lessons, gear reviews, input, output....ever growing..
So...thats what Im working on for 2011...Its going to be a long haul, and will take months to develop, and will morph continuously..But I need something to do in my spare time.. Laughing Laughing ....IN THE MEANTIME...
Del and I are working very hard on promoting steel guitar as a whole. My shop here in Dallas is currently overwhelmed. We are looking at opening a full time business of refurbishing, buying, selling playing, and teaching steel guitar!

Many of you have purchased instruments from us this year, and we want you all to know how grateful we are that you trusted us to provide you with a quality used guitar, or a brand new MULLEN...
My first task is to setup an FTP site where data can be uploaded for use on the site......I appreciate all of your input, and participation very much...
Peace from Dallas!...Mickey

Mick,

Your preceptions on things were very well said. I look forward to your site. I have your book, and as a 30 year plus musician and a 8 month steel attempter it has been very helpful. Good luck with you new shop. If things work out for me in this new endevor, I hope to buy one of your Mullen steels.

Best wishes on your new venture Mickey. I'm sure it will be great. Does this mean you're gonna stop flying in 2011, or do it in your "spare time" when not flying?

Upon entering aircraft I hope you'll turn left once in awhile, but I suppose if I had 10,000+ hours in the left seat, it could be nice to kick back and let someone else "drive"...Good luck with this new/additional venture.

Dale
