Yesterday it was time for my yearly change of strings so I opened my pack of b0bwires and did the tedious chore of installing them (I hate changing strings). Ok so the clarity is back, the harmonics are now bell clear, the wound strings ring like a piano. The tone is a bit sharper than I like but these are great strings!
The Steel was recorded with a Goodrich 120 pot pedal armed with a Dunlop HopPotz pot and played into a Fender Steel King. The fiddle and guitar parts used an old Fender Vibro Champ. Most of the reverb is Boss RV-5 set on hall. The drums and fiddle also use my Yamaha AW-2400 reverb. Drums are EZDrummer mixed through Reaper with lots of manual edits (rimshots and excess bass drum hits removed, custom ending).

Bumping this up.
I just put them on my PP and they are definitely brighter than the Franklin strings. I do like the spunk but do look forward to them mellowing a bit.

Love those JAGS. BTW, you told us about all your equipment except you did not mention the guitar. What guitar did you record on?

Also, you might mention what Jagwires you used--there are many series available.

Wow, did this back in January so the strings are old again. I used Weldon Myrick E9, stainless wound with the top string changed to a .013:
.013 .015 .011 .014 .018 .022p .026 .030 .034 .038

Try the nickel strings--not so brite. I use Ricky Davis series on my shobuds.

Bright is good--depends on what you want, like maybe you have a guitar that is a little to "dark" or mellow, the brite strings will help you achieve a little more bite.
The nichols seem to fit my fingertip very well. Then again, for kicks, I may try some brites for comparison. Which ever you like, the Jagwires are a true winner. Thankyou Danny H. of Jagwire Strings, and thankyou b0b for offering them at a forum discount!!

The nickels sound much better, warmer tone all around. They just go dead so fast and I keep my strings for a year. Always have even when I was playing out 3-4 nights a week.

I put a set onlast night,Je9-B6s the sustain is stupendious, but they are bright. The sustain was what I noticed first.
