My good friend Vernon Hester in Casey, So.Carolina passed away this afternoon after an extended illnes of Cystic Fibrosis of his lungs. Vernon was a very good steel player and some of you may remember him from the past. I will surely miss my friend. _________________ Charles Tilley ,

Very sad news. I did not know Vernon personally, but we had several exchanges by private e-mail.
He went to the trouble of sending me a DVD of his performances.
He was always enthusiastic about playing and I loved the sound he got from that Rickenbacher. |
