Lately it seems, when I open up a site using FF, the pages have that horizontal left(<right>) bar down along the lower window border.

To read anything now, I always have to hit Ctrl/-
so I can view the entire text.

No matter where I set the text size, when I go to another site/page, the horizontal bar returns to it's original postion, and I have to re-size all over again.

Is this FF's bugger, or did I do something goofy?

I'm running FF (v.) 3.6.12

Just another nuisance. Confused

Could be that one of your toolbars or add-ons or extensions is causing this. I'd try starting FF in safe mode and see what happens.

C#,

I'm returning to your post after 1st viewing it, and I notice that the info on how to get to Safe Mode is missing.

You explained it using RUN. I went and opened another FF page so I wouldn't have to mess up with the Forum page.

Could you run those instructos by me again.

Thanks C#.

Chip, it was

Quote:
Click on the Start menu, and then select Run. Enter "firefox -safe-mode" in the dialog box's text field and click Continue in Safe Mode.

but when I tried that on a Vista comp it was different, so I guess it varies according to your version of Windows. Easy on a Mac, though. Just hold down Option when you start FF.

C#,

Here's a pic of my RUN dialog box. When I clicked
on 'OK' all that happened was another FF page popped up.
I'm not sure what you meant by "hold down OPTION".
Is that a key? I don't have an option key.
Running W7.

You can find a discussion here: http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/720618-firefox-safe-mode-in-w7/
"Option" is a key on a Mac computer. Windows doesn't have one.

Thanks C# for digging up that link.

I'll read up and see if I can try it out. Smile
