I absolutely second that. The sound that drew me to steel guitar as a kid even before I knew what one was. I owe many thanks to Mr. Mooney!

Ralph Mooney's influence on me started at an early age, with the steel parts in Buck Owens' real early '60's LPs. At the time I had now way of knowing who the steeler was (I was about 8 at the time), but I certainly loved the steel work on those LP's. \

So too did my dad. It all contributed to my dad building me a rudimentary steel in 1963.

So for both my dad and me, I say a big THANKS to Mr. Mooney for many years of the ultimate in entertainment and creativity.

I tell Moon often that his music is as refreshing today as it was with Wynn, Buck, Skeets, etc & etc.
