James, your Dad was a fine man and a true friend to many of us. I can't picture him in my mind with anything other than a big smile on his face. That is the only way I ever saw him. We will miss him and you and your family will be in our prayers. I have been thru the loss of both parents and I know how you feel. I hope you can find some comfort in knowing that your Dad had so many friends that really care.

Hi James;I've not had the pleasure of meeting you but I've really been blest to know your parents. Our hearts were broken when we heard the terrible news.Your Dad came to the SSSGC in December and shared some of his knowledge of the steel guitar with us.Doyle and I stood outside after the meeting and visited for a half hour.As we prepared to leave we hugged and I told him that I loved him.He responded the same.I'm sure glad I had a chance to see him one more time and express to him how much his friendship has meant to me.This should be a lesson for all of us.

James,Your Dad Doyle,is one of Oklahoma's greatest steel guitar ambassadors. For several years I have had the honor to associate with and to play on shows with him.
There was never a kinder man to me than your dad.It is sad for me and I know for all who knew him, that we lost him too soon and too suddenly. God bless you and your family.

I had the honor of having Doyle as a guest in my home for a week a couple of years ago. He and Bob DuVall came to my house from the St.Louis Convention and we had a ball, jammin' and just visitin', and EATIN'- I got to cook for them, and man, could those "growin' boys eat! I was a most enjoyable week, and one hell of a nice memory for me, that I will cherish the rest of my days.

Hi James: It was so hard to leave for NAMM knowing I could not be with your mom, You and Jodi during the funeral. Your dad was a real friend to Carol and I. I felt especially blessed to be asked by him to perform you kids weddings. Although schedules didn't work out for yours, being a part of Jodi and Mike's was a blessing. Stay in touch and keep me informed as to how your band is doing. By the way, Robert Randolf was at the Crate booth at NAMM, as were a number of other endorsers.
Stay close to your mother and let Carol and I know if she needs any help.
