I am thinking of finally buying me a pushpull. I am thinking of going with a single neck. Is there any advantage soundwise going with a double neck vs a single neck.
Also, I really would like an emmons PP. It seems that the 65 emmons has the most popularity. I'm not sure if those were fatback, bolt on, or whatever. I've never owned a push pull but I here people play them and what appeals to me is those growling overtones on the mids. Awesome! Cant get that with an all-pull. That alone is enough for me to want a PP. |

Did a shootout of some push/pulls a while back with some folks here in Portland, and the single necks tended to sound better to my ear. Just a little. I ended up with a single 12, and I love it. For me, the portability is a big factor - my other steel, a D-10, hasn't been out of the house since I got the Emmons! None of the bands I've been in call for a C6 sound, though, so that's a big part of it. |

I use Emmons push-pulls. Absolutely without question, there are many other brands that are outstanding and oftentimes play easier. But sitting down behind a p/p is, to me, kind of like putting on an old comfortable shoe......ahh.
D10? S10? DS10? I love a D10, but while C6th is all I practice at home, I use E9th 90% of the time on the job. I just lower my E's and go at it if 6th sounds are needed for the remaining 10%.
And it IS nicer to hook up 3 pedals instead of 8. |

i`m afraid i`m infected by the p/p virus too
although my steel works great there`s something about an emmons...
i`d like to have a black S10
but i`d rather practice than buy new gear |
