My friend, Haywood Henson, wanted me to announce that he will be having another steel guitar show on February 12th & 13th and this year he has moved it to Auburndale, FL. As of right now Joe Wright, Chet Gibson and myself are confirmed. There will be quite a few more players added to the list who he is talking to now. I will post more info later as to the location and times as well as additional players.

Herby Wallace

Update: I just spoke with Haywood Henson and the dates for this show have been moved to the 12th and 13th of February.

I was there last year Herby, and I'll be there this year if I'm not playing some where. Good news, for sure. It's funny, I was just talking to a fellow steel player about the show and if they were going to have it this year. Larry

Great. Also glad to see he moved it, the Motel they had it at last year from comments was not very good.

Haywood allowed three of us from the Florida Steel Guitar Club to open the Sunday Show last year, Jack Dougherty, John King and myself.

I've had an inquiry from Scotty about this so look for Scotty at the show along with Donna Darlene Jackson and Lynn Oswley and probably the Calhoun twins too as they will probably stay at the Calhoun's tour bus company "Ranch" hospitality house in Leesburg, Fl.

Those that will be here for the show and are staying for a couple of extra "Florida days", our Florida Steel Guitar Club jam will be Wednesday, Feb 9, 5:30 to 8:30 PM at Catfish Johnny's restaurant in Lake Panasoffkee. Also our weekly "jam show" at Catfish Johnny's is on Tuesday's during the day. He opens at 10:30 am and serves a fish dinner and then the show starts at Noon.

Darn I will be right down in Ocala and Lakeland in January and I will be about a month to early. I would have like to come and just be a guest. I know it is going to be good with Herby Wallace there and I would have liked to see him again. It has been a while since I seen him.

Hey Jack I would need directions from Belleveiw which is just out side of Ocala to the south. We just might be coming that way around January 11Th.I think I can talk Anna into us coming with our friend Frank Spencer how live in Belleveiw.Hey we drive 47 miles to see my buddy Ray walker play every month so 35 miles is nothing to us.

Click on the link to the club's web site that is on my other post. There is a map on the site.

But basically, come south on US301 through Wildwood to CR470 in Sumter County (probably about 25 miles) and then turn right (west) on CR470 about 6 miles and you are at Catfish Johnny's Restaurant in Lake Panasoffkee.

I'm also playing a job on Monday nights at the Oxford Community Center. Oxford is about 10 or 12 miles south of Belleview at the corner of US301 and SR46 (basically the west edge of The Villages). 6 to 9 PM - all traditional country music.

Sam, if you need more send me an e-mail rather that us hijacking this thread.

I too had a voice mail message from Haywood about having to move the show to the next weekend due to a scheduling conflict.

Also, from the what he said it looks like we will be opening the show on Sunday again. (Florida Steel Guitar club).

As the show will be Feb 12th and 13th, our Florida Steel Guitar Club jam will be Wednesday, Feb 9th and everyone is invited to the club jam if you are here early. www.floridasteelguitarclub.com

Talked to Haywood this morning and Teresa and I will be there as well. We're looking forward to being in Florida in Feb. again this year.
Also, I'll be giving an E9th seminar on the 12th from 10:30 till 3:00. Haywood already has 8 signed up so contact me or Haywood if you want to come or have any questions. It's gonna be a lot of fun. Very Happy

Additonal info, the show will be at the International Market World, flea market, in Auburndale. http://www.intlmarketworld.com/

Haywood does a show there on Friday nights and he said the market owner is going to build walls around the stage area for the show.

Auburndale is about half way between Lakeland and Haines City, on State Route 92.

Click on the link I posted for the International Market Place. They have a map on their web site.

Jack Dougherty, John King and I will open the Sunday show as we did last year, representing the Florida Steel Guitar Club.

"Catfish Johnny" Galvin, who operates the restaurant and provides free space for our club jams may also be there with the club pickers. Johnny is a singer and toured with Tommy Collins.

Sorry to hear you and Debra won't be there this year. Teresa and I always look forward to spending time with you. You're two of our favorite people. Can't wait to get out of the cold and snow!
