My amp has started roaring the last week. It stops when I turn the reverb off. Has anyone had a problem with the reverb unit on these amps? I wonder what could be the problem and what it would take to repair. Would it be worth a repair or should I go to a reverb pedal? Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

Paul,,un-plug the reverb Molex plug (the plug from the reverb tank to the chassis)then plug it back in. Sometimes the Molex plug can cause this problem,,loose, Etc.
Or ,when the amp is on & the roaring starts ,with the reverb turned up, reach under the chassis & move the Molex plug a little bit & see if the roaring stops,,if it does, then you know its in the plug.
I had the same problem with my NV112 ![Sad](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif) _________________ steelguitarguy.com |

The reverb in my 112 quit after a couple of years. I put a new tank in, but I no longer use it. I now use a Holy Grail Nano reverb and a DD-3 delay, and I wouldn't go back to the spring reverb if you paid me. The digital stuff sounds way better. |

There is NO Molex connector for the Reverb in the Nashville 112. It uses a different connector type.
I recently (in the past month) worked on Don Sulesky's NV112 and the Reverb Pan (tank) went out in it. But, it wasn't roaring it was just dead.
Hard to tell without checking it out what the problem is. |

Related comment: When I got my 112 new, I could not turn up the reverb past 4 or it would hum badly. I called Mike Brown at Peavey and he said they had a batch go out with the reverb wiring connected backwards, which was probably what was causing the problem. He said to take it to my local Peavey dealer. They pulled the chasis and switched the wires while I waited, about a 10 minute job. That fixed it and I have never had another problem. I was using an RV-3, but after I installed the Ken Fox chips, for some reason, the reverb improved a lot in the amp. So, now, I use the amp reverb and only the delay function on the RV-3. |

Sorry about the Molex plug type thing being wrong, I should have just said,,the plug from the reverb tank to the chassis input.
The reverb tank went bad in my NV112 One of the reverb springs broke off one of the tiny end holders in the tank. Not sure what caused this ? |
