One of Tom's signature licks sounds to me like some sort of descending chromatic lick. It can be heard at about 10 seconds into the Buckaroos' "Anywhere USA", as well as throughout "Bad Luck and Bad Weather." and about a dozen other places. Does anyone have this lick tabbed out, or can you put me on the right path to learning this little gem.
Thanks,
Ian |

Not wishing to hijack your posting Ian but, on the same subject that you will probably like - can someone put up his steel break on the "cajun' fiddle" number by Don Rich.Sorry for the hijack again. James. |

i don't have or know the tune nor the lick Ian
if it's in the high register, by having the D lever that lowers string 2 & the E lever that lowers string 4 on the other knee, you've got a chromatic run up & down the neck |

What I'm hearing is this (and I hope it's what you're hearing, too!!!):
Any fret, say 14 in Bad Luck,
BC pedals(keep them pressed) pick strings 3/4, then 5
after picking string 5, slide to fret thirteen letting it ring.
then pick strings 3/4 again on fret 13
after picking those strings, slide to fret 12.
pick strings 2/3
Release BC pedals
Pick 3/4/5 on fret 12
The picking pattern is not 100%, but it's in the neighbourhood.
This sounds kinda close to me...hopefully it's a start for you. It's got me interested, now!
all the very best,
steve |
