Hi, has anybody tried out the Fender Classic series volume pedal and or the volume/tone pedal?
I'm curious about it... I kinda want one but would love to hear what you guys think? |

I was wondering the same thing. Found a few used for a good price. |

Here's a previous discussion which may be helpful. Note that the input and output jacks are on the left side of the pedal, rather than the right side as are found on most pedal steel volume pedals. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

I like my Fender reissue vol/tone pedal just fine. It's definitely for those of us that use the old-timey doowah sound in their playing. If you're looking for a regular modern pedal steel volume pedal there are probably better choices. The tone sweep was very stiff at first but I loosened the center screw underneath and after a lot of use it works very well. Having the output jack on the left is not the best for steel players but it's no deal breaker. I have an original Fender vol/tone as well and the reissue is comparable but a lot cheaper. Better get one while you can. |

Correction Brad - on the reissue the input is on the right and the output is on the left. |

I've got the volume/tone reissue pedal. Having the main output and tuner output on the left side was not a deal breaker for me either. The pedal has a pretty good, albeit stiff action. Tone control only works if your coming straight from the guitar. I go through a Free Loader and if I use the Fender pedal after it, the tone control doesn't work at all. It's basically become my practice, backup pedal to my Goodrich. _________________ Thom Ferman

It is perfect for my D-6 Fender Stringmaster but the floor angle and height are to akward for the GFI pedal steel. |
