Hello Steel Guitar Folks, my name is Chip Eagle. I am the publisher of FolkWax (www.folkwax.com), the largest singer-songwriter weekly. This week our news editors received a notice of the formation of the Alabama Steel Guitar Association. Since I didn't have a contact for ASGA, I did a little googling on the topic and found this forum. I must admit to being amazed at how many regional association you all have. I contacted the owner of the list and Bob graciously allowed me to contact you (thanks Bob!).
The reason for contacting you is to let you know that we at FolkWax would be happy to include information about your meetings and events in our publication. Our area is quite a bit wider than just the singer-songwriter genre, also covering country, bluegrass, celtic, and other related genres. Our company also publishes the two largest publications dedicated to the Blues (Blues Revue and BluesWax).
I must apologize that our staff simply isn't able to check all the sites and forums to gather our news items, but if you are interested in news coverage, please mail them to folkwax@visnat.com and we will do our best to spread the word to our nearly 50,000 subscribers. We can't promise to get everything in their every week, but we will try to help whenever we can. For example we have an item this week about the ASGA.
FolkWax is a free, weekly publication send each Thursday only to subscribers. We never send anything else or share our readers' information. It's just about the music. You can check us our at www.folkwax.com. If you don't like, it is simple to unsubscribe and you will never hear from us again.
Again, thank you, Bob, and thank you Steel Guitar Forum for your time. I hope that we are able to help promote the important work that you all are doing.
If you ever have any questions, you may contact me directly at ceagle@visnat.com.
