There is a club in Jacksonville and we have the Florida Steel Guitar Club that meets and has a jam once a month in Lake Panasoffkee (about 35 miles south of Ocala). Ernie Cawby that lives near you comes to our jams.

Amanda,

The North Florida Steel Guitar Club meets on the third Sunday of each month for their concert/jam. You do not have to be a member of the club, the meetings are open to the public. There is no admission charge.

Generally, you will see a posting in "Events and Announcements" about a week prior to the meeting. The meetings are held at the Moose Lodge (#2020) located on Collins Road, Orange Park, FL, just outside Jacksonville.

Coming from Live Oak, you would drive on I-10 east to I-295, the 'beltway' around Jacksonville (you don't have to drive in town). Take I-295 south toward Orange Park. Exit at Roosevelt Blvd, Hwy 17. Go left about 1/4 mile, turn left at the light, Collins Road. In less than a mile, you will see the sign at the edge of the road for the Moose Lodge. The building sits back from the road.

The meetings start at about 3pm. but come a little earlier to chat, etc.

Email or PM me if you have any questions. Hope to see you at the next meeting, Nov. 21.

John LeMaster
