He'd have better sense then to post this, I'm sure he'd wait till it was perfect...this isn't...I'm glad this isn't a competition, (I only wish I could compete, but I'll keep practicing) but more a celebration of the instrument, and certainly one of my favorite songs...anyhow, this will be my first Forum Post, and though after an 8 year hiatis from playing, and Rusty, no not that Rusty either it's still a great old song, and we've all been blessed by the gift given on that Old Rugged Cross.

Hey Dale, That is beautiful playing. What a nice style you have.
I love those chords you're using, wish I could play that pretty.
That's very enjoyable to listen to, even without any backup music.

Dale,
Very Pretty, an interesting rendition. I don't think you have to worry about dodging competition, playing like that. Please don't let it be your last post.

Hello, Dale! Just wanted to drop you a note and let you know I almost didn't view your post and performance on you tube, but I feel I have been blessed that I did! Thanks for posting your rendition of that wonderful old song!! You posess a great talent for stylizing and you play with not only a great touch, but I could feel in your playing that it comes from the heart. May God bless you in your performance on the PSG and may your talent somehow draw others closer to HIM, as it did me! To GOD be the glory for everything we do! Thanks again, Roger Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Very nice Dale! I aspire to play like you someday. I see you're in Washington as well. Seems like Washington is pretty well represented on the forum. Not quite Texas though! Smile

You're all much too kind, and I appreciate your words of encouragement...>Peter, I went to your website, I'll have to practice a lot more then I am to get that good, you've got some really nice stuff on there...I wish my Mullen sounded as good as yours...>Joe, I grew up in College Place Washington, right next to Walla Walla, and for years thought I might be the only one in Washington trying to play the steel...I'm glad I was found to be wrong...I didn't have any exposier to any other steelers for many years, and didn't even know of this forum till a few months ago and thrilled I know about it now...>Roger, I'm glad this touched you, "Praise God from whom all blessing flow...All good things come from above" Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks again,
Dale

Dale, that was very nice indeed, and if that's rusty playing, I am looking forward to further posting from yourself. There's something everyone can learn from watching this, myself included. I also liked the steel just by itself with no backing, and you kept the tempo in your head all the way through. Great sound on the Mullen too. Great stuff, and I am so glad you are back playing. I would like to hear you play Amazing Grace just with the steel also? Please.

Many Regards Dale, David Hartley.

Dale...great playing there, and some great modulations on the Chord changes. You've put lots of thought there for sure. Let's have more when you have the time.

Regards,
