You mean, "The Best of the ROCK Op'ry" don't ya? Sorry this happened Smiley. I was sorta sad that I had a gig and was going to miss your smiling mug on the telly, but now I'm glad I won't have to sit through all that heavy rock s**t that the Op'ry seems so eager to shove down our throats. Paisley should do OK, but Dolly may mess it up like she did with Sir Elton on the CMA awards. It's a crap shoot.

What a disapointment, I could really
bash the G.O.O. but what good would
it do?

Smiley, the "suits" and "bean-counters" are in charge of everything! You are up-front on my computer screen, and will remain there!

God bless and happy new year.....

Smiley I'm sure sorry to hear of your being bumped from the Opry Live show. Maybe next time you'll get your shot on TV :-)

Smiley,

Sorry to see your spot won't be televised, I was looking forward to seeing you tomorrow when I see the rebroadcast. I know you'll still have a great time, and I still wish I could be there.

See ya soon,
Jim

We lose again! I guess I need to make other plans for tonight then. Let's see, if I left now, I could make it just in time to catch you at Ernest Tubb's....

Smiley...does that mean I can take the duct tape and saranwrap off of my TV screen? I was afraid you'd bust the screen!

As I Replied on the other thread, besides Smiley’s portion not being televised, (which I can't see) I missed the 8 pm portion on WSN and now, THE SECOND SHOW OF THE OPRY ISN’T EVEN ON (WSM) RADIO tonight! I wonder what the heck is going on! I hope the Midnight Jamboree is still scheduled. I only live about 9-mi. away, but; tonight’s too dangerous to be out for no reason!

I guess my age is really beginning to show! Even the E.T.R.S. went off at only 12:45 am.! But, Smiley was introduced as the ‘Newest Drifting Cowboy’! Boy~Oh~Boy~Oh~Boy!

Maybe they saw Smiley in his shorts and thought that those were his normal stage attire!
