Hey Folks,
First off, thanks a lot for all the information you guys put up on this forum. It's quite helpful and interesting.
My name is Drew, I am a touring guitarist from the LA area. I've recently gotten into dobro and I've fallen in love with steel guitar. I want to make the plunge into pedal steel. I need some help finding a guitar and then of course trying to play the damn thing.
I'm sure there are some great teachers out here, but I don't know who thy are. Also If anyone knows a good place to find a PSG that would be helpful too. I may just buy from the Forum.
from reading on the forum, I think the best purchase for me is S-10 3+4, a brand a won't "grow out of" ...GFI, MSA, etc..
Also what is the deal with Dekley's They seem like good deals but I don't hear them talked about too much.
thank you!

John McClung comes to mind immedeately - he's a very good player & teacher. And a real nice guy. Search him out on the Forum. He lives in LA.
Also, if you don't drivin for an hour - Jim Planescar's steel shop in Oceanside is THE PLACE to get your guitars cared for & Jim is also a great teacher & player. Steel Guitars of North County - they're on the web. Jim is one of my heroes.....
Plenscar for President in 2012!!!

Blackie Taylor in Riverside, Ca. has taught Steel Guitar for years and also does adjustments, maintenance, and repairs.
Look him up under "Taylor Music", Riverside, Ca. He is just off the 60-Freeway .
