For Sale: JCH D-10 9 x 10
9 pedal x 10 knee lever-FULLY LOADED!!! Orginal 705 Lawrence Pickups on both necks. Sperzel Tuners on Keyhead. In great shape. Triple Raise/Triple Lower ALl Pull Changer. 4 hole bell cranks. It is Day Set up. There is so many ways and variations with all the knee levers that you can pretty much set it up to your liking. Whoever buys it will want to put it his way anyway. Everything else like I said whoever gets this guitar can do whatever he wants for set up. And he has a ton of whatever's he can do with it!!! Very easy as the bell cranks do slide off the side of the shaft. They truly don't come any more loaded than this. At least I don't think so. Like I said guitar is in great shape. The case is a little torn and tattered, but still holds the guitar nicely. Only flaw on the mica is on the back apron there is a tiny chip and a couple little scratches on the back chrome plate. Not that noticeable, and remember that's on the back apron. I have attached a picture of it. Any questions just contact me. Note: On the 5th picture the C6 fretboard is just a little dirty. I should have wiped it before the picture, but I forgot to.

Serial number shows JCH D-10 L
101 1014
Note: These numbers are stamped on endplate
of keyhead side underneath.

Best Price over $3,500.00
(add $75.00 for shipping)

NOTE: LLOYD GREEN USES HIS "JCH" QUITE OFTEN - TAKE

Dean,
I looked back at yours. I believe yours was an 8 x 5. It is a beauty. Hopefully mine at 9 x 10 and priced less than yours will sell. But Your's is a beauty. I hope the red thing isn't true.

Mickey,
I'd really prefer an outright sale & hopefully at this price it will happen. But you never know. It wouldn't hurt to at least think about it. Why don't you email me some pics of the ZUM to:

It seems like there is no interest for these JCH guitars. I don't really understand why. It's not like you can just go out and buy a JCH at any time. I know firsthand what went into these guitars and the care and attention to a lot of things Jimmy did to make these guitars superior. I know if Jimmy were still alive he would be saddened that it take this long and be so difficult to sell his guitars. I can say in all honesty that Jimmy really cared about the consumer and the importance that somebody gets the best for what they pay for. I know that you can really rely on these guitars.

Listen to Lloyd Green play his solo of Farewell Party on youtube on his JCH. Then listen to him playing his JCH along with Jeff Newman, doing their rendition of Look at Us.

I have added the 2 webpage redirects above on the original add. Just click on them and it will bring you right to them on Youtube. For those who haven't seen these before enjoy.

Don't forget that John Hughey recorded Look At Us and many hit songs on a JCH. Buck Reid and some other great players still play a JCH. Sonny Garish had one and I think if I remember right from what Jimmy told me, he recorded some of the Judds hits on a JCH. I think Pat Severs played a JCH with the Pirates Of The Mississippi. Look up Russ Hicks on YouTube playing his white JCH at the Knoxville jam. Those are just to name a few. Help us out if anyone knows any other players that play a JCH.

I think thats got to do with the economy.
These are superb guitars.
Weren't many of them made - maybe thats another factor - people aren't so familiar with them.

But made by the late great J. Crawford - and the H in JCH is John Hughey, can't get any better than that!

At this price it should've sold by now. If this was a zum or mullen or even an emmons loaded like this guitar it would've sold by now. I'm not really buying the economy is bad excuse anymore cause I see all the people that are still buying new guitars and new guitars are going for 5 to 6 grand or more especially for a loaded guitar. There has to be an interest to buy something and at the price Al is asking for this guitar tells me there is no interest for JCH guitars anymore. I don't know much about Jimmy's older guitars as far as how mechanically sound they were. I've never really heard of any complaints except for the older JCH guitars being a stiff guitar to play which was one of the biggest reasons Jimmy redesigned his changer on the newer JCH like the one I have. I guess I thought a JCH was a more well known guitar than what it really must be and maybe that had something to do with when Hughey left the company. Anyhow, Al best of luck and tell us you have never had any major problems with this guitar have you?

TXS for chiming in Dean. This is a sweet guitar. I am just literally shocked that I can't even get $3,500.00 for this guitar. I can't and won't sell it for less than that. There have been no major problems with this guitar. Some of them may be stiff, but this one plays like my Emmons SKH. I don't notice any real stiffness.

Jimmy made wonderful guitars and maybe it's because not many were made or people think they can't get parts for them. All of his parts are high end parts. There is nothing cheap made about this fine guitar. I don't know, but a lot of these parts are Emmons parts. I know that because I have already put some parts from my SKH Emmons into this guitar and vice versa.

So I'll let it sit for a little while at the $3,500.00 mark. BUT IT WON'T BE LOWERED ANYMORE.

To tell you the truth, I'll take $3,550.00 for it and not a penny less. And then freight & insurance of $80.00.

Al

I have some JCHs. One is #1006, so the sixth one made. So, certainly an early one. I would not say that it plays stiff at all. It is 9/9, and I would not sell it for $3500.
I am an Emmons Wraparound guy, but I do like JCHs a lot.
When I was deciding on what brands of all-pull guitars to keep, I let my Franklin go. I let my Kline go, and I let my round front Sho-Bud go.
I don't need more JCHs, otherwise I would have grabbed this one two weeks ago.
Don't miss your opportunity with this one.

Al, Just a thought here.. I'd almost bet that if you changed it around to Emmons setup, it would have been sold by now, and at a much higher price than what you're currently asking.

Why? I have no idea, but that seems to be the main interest in the new/er players. The first thing they'll ask, is it setup like an Emmon's. Many don't seem to know what the real difference is between a Day setup these days. But they do know the word Emmons. Winking

i wouldn't change anything. that's a great steel...one of the only types i'd consider if i could afford another. that is a killer price. players who have been around for awhile know what a great deal this is. anyone who doesn't know the difference between emmons and day and how to change it around don't deserve it anyway. stop whining and wait a bit for the economy to roll your way.
