Twice tonight during the 1st game of the World Series they were indicating that the ball hit was a single to right field and the right fielder made an error, allowing the runner to get to 2nd. They refer to this as βSingle E9β which happens to be the guitar I play β a single neck E9.

Ok, I can see it was a "single" "error". What does the 9 indicate? _________________ Sherman L. Willden
It is easy to play the steel guitar. Playing so that the audience finds it pleasing is the difficult act. |

9 is the number of the player in box scoring. The players are numbered 1-9...#1 is the pitcher. #9 is right field. etc |

I thought "error" was a technical pedal steel term... _________________ I give music lessons on several different instruments in Cambridge, NY (between Bennington, VT and Albany, NY). But my true love is pedal steel. I've been obsessed with steel since 1972; don't know anything I'd rather talk about... www.barryhyman.com |
